Arabella's Audi paused as the automatic gates to her house swung open. Alex's jaw dropped open...whilst it was quite a mansion the term "house" simply didn't do it justice. Gated and walked off the gardens alone took up three acres. The house complex itself at least another.
The two ladies smiled at Alex's amazed face. "I married well and divorced even better" Arabella said breaking the silence then moved the car up the long, long gravel drive...the gates closed silently behind them locking Alex away from the rest of the world.
"You are probably too young to remember but I was married to a prominent government minister in the 80s...it turns out he was more interested in sleeping with his security guards and driver....this place is my reward for a quiet scandal-free seperation"
Jane turned to look round at Alex in the back seat "As you can see this place will keep you busy...but you'll be debt free and without a car in the workd other than pleasing your host"
The car trundled to a stop outside the front door and Alex stepped out if the car and into his new life
